Abstract

Financial literacy is essential for improving financial decision-making and promoting financial inclusion among women. This study assesses the effectiveness of financial literacy programmes in enhancing the financial awareness and capabilities of women in Haryana. Primary data were collected from 600 programme participants using a structured questionnaire and analysed through descriptive statistics, including frequencies, percentages, mean scores, and standard deviations. The findings indicate that the programmes have significantly improved respondents' knowledge of basic banking, budgeting, digital payment systems, and financial security practices. However, awareness of investment planning, risk diversification, and interest calculations remains comparatively low. The study concludes that while financial literacy programmes effectively strengthen basic financial knowledge and confidence, greater emphasis is needed on advanced financial education to support long-term financial planning and women's financial empowerment.
